I recently had the misfortune of interviewing for a software developer position at PIA with one of the company's co-founders who was utterly disappointing and unprofessional. Let this review serve as a fair warning to anyone considering this company. From the very beginning, it was clear that PIA lacked respect for candidates' time and professionalism. Despite scheduling the interview well in advance, he was consistently tardy and showed a complete lack of consideration for my schedule. It seems that punctuality is not a priority for him or the company, which reflects poorly on their overall work ethic and values. Throughout the interview, he displayed a condescending and disrespectful attitude that made it impossible to have a productive conversation. He appeared disinterested and dismissive of my experience and skillset, suggesting a lack of understanding of his own job requirements. It was evident that he had neither read my resume nor prepared adequately for the interview, wasting both our time. The most disappointing part of the interview process was when he blatantly lied about crucial aspects of the job. He provided misleading information regarding the starting salary, claiming it was competitive when it was clearly below market value. He also promised a 3-month salary adjustment period, but it turned out to be nothing but an empty promise meant to deceive candidates into accepting lower initial compensation. By lower, I mean borderline criminal and pushing the boundaries of minimum wage. Furthermore, during the interview, I was assured that remote work options would be available. Regrettably, this was another falsehood. After expressing my interest in remote opportunities, he backtracked and stated that the company was not yet ready to accommodate remote arrangements. This lack of transparency and dishonesty reflects a deeply flawed company culture, where misleading potential employees is apparently commonplace. In addition to his unprofessional conduct during the interview, PIA proved to be remarkably inefficient in their communication. Following the interview, I had several queries and concerns, but they took weeks to respond to my emails. Numerous follow-ups were met with silence, which demonstrated a lack of respect for my time and investment in the process. Based on my experience with PIA, I strongly advise other software developers to seriously reconsider any job opportunity with this company. Their disrespectful and unprofessional behavior, coupled with their deceitful practices, make it abundantly clear that PIA does not value its employees or potential candidates. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment by exploring other companies with a more professional and respectful work environment.
