There were three interviews in total - two personality-based ones and one technical. The technical interview focused mainly on professional questions, like reviewing existing code and answering questions about it. Overall, it was a fair interview. The final interview was in the office. Toward the end of the interview, I asked about employee benefits (a completely legitimate question), but they made me feel as if it was wrong to ask, implying that if I’m here, it should be because of my dedication and commitment. Anyway, the answer was that there are no food allowances or parking benefits, and aside from those, there are no additional benefits.
The interviewer mentioned that I didn’t ask enough questions, which seemed to bother him, and that’s how we ended the interview. Since then, and it’s been over six months, I’ve never received any response. Beyond the fact that it’s unprofessional, it’s also extremely disrespectful. I invested my time, and they couldn’t even be bothered to send a simple email saying, “We decided to move forward with other candidates.” A workplace is also measured by how it treats people, and in this aspect, they failed, without a doubt. Good luck to anyone who applies.
