Overall, the interview process was positive and well organised until my final stage.
Unfortunately, my experience with the CIO was disappointing. The interview felt quite unstructured, and the approach came across as unprofessional. I was frequently spoken over, which made it difficult to fully answer questions or have a meaningful discussion. When I asked questions about the role, team and technology strategy, I also found the responses lacked clarity and were difficult to follow, a lot was said but I left feeling nothing was answered.
I appreciate that interview styles vary, but this stage significantly changed my perception of the organisation. Given that this was my interaction with a senior leader, I had expected a more engaging, collaborative and professional conversation.
The earlier stages reflected positively on the company and the recruitment team, so it was unfortunate that the final interview did not provide the same experience.
