      J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 6 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez SHL Global (Gurgaon, Haryana) en mai 2025

      Entretien

      I applied on December 22, 2024 on SHL website and got first call in FEB 2024 where they asked for details and things went nowhere. Then they approached me in late March and things got started. I had four rounds (2 technical), one technical + functional + fitment, and one short HR discussion. First round: Taken by the Engineering Manager in Digital Vertical. Originally scheduled for April 9 but happened on April 25 after two rescheduling events Duration: 90m Focus: DSA and System Design Mode: Teams Happened on May 6 Second Round: Taken by Director of Architecture Duration: Happended on May 12, Scheduled for 45m, actual 1h15m Focus: Current Project Architecture, System Design with a lot of deep dive Mode: Face to face for 5 min Third Round: Taken by SVP Engineering Duration: Scheduled for 30 min, happened for 1 hour Focus: In depth discussion on current project architecture with lot's of why this not that, My roles and responsibilities in current organization, and potential fitment in SHL (they interviewed for Senior Architect but somehow want to see my willingness for an Architect role), Discussions around compensation Mode: Face to face in SHL office Round 4: Just after round 3 with Recruitment HR Head Focus: How was the interview process, what is your understanding about the role, What is your current compensation, in hand salary. Then they told me to give them one week as they want to delibarate and regroup internally. I never heard back and did not follow up as well. My take is that they liked my profile but there were some budget restrictions beacuse we never discussed compensation in SHL. As I mentioned my current in-hand the HR's first thought was this must be post tax. Overall Experience was very good as all interviewers and recruiters were thorough professionals. But the process was slow.

      Round 1: DSA: Balanced Equation (brackets and parentheses) Next biggest number from an Array System Design: URL Shortner Rate Limiter Round 2: Current Project: Detailed architecture discussion System Design: Which type of database to use for click stream analytics? Follow up on why columnar? Disadvantages of columnar Design Youtube, focus on Upload and download. Which CDN to store the data on? How does a typical recommendation engine works> Which parameters will I used to purchase a shop in a mall? Design a cache system? -Distributed Key value store Follow up: Cache eviction strategy. How do I know, how to remove the oldest key, which key is the oldest. I answered with commit logs. How do we get the oldest key from commit logs. Keep a hash map of key and its latest offset. While deleting I should check the whole hash map. Round 3: What are my roles and responsibilities? Detailed discussion my current project, my role in it, how did we architect it, why we did it the way we did. Details on my responsibilities towards the organization and business unit? Discussion on past two projects where frontend was involved? Architect vs Senior Architect position at SHL and my take on it? Discussions around current compensation. Then he asked me to ask my questions, I asked about hierarchy, reporting manager, overall organization strength and team strength. How the work is divided in Architecture and Engineering? Round 4: How were your round so far? What do you understand about the role? What is your current compensation? In Hand before tax or after tax?
