The initial interview with the group of four in May 4th was great. They were very receptive and asked good questions about my skills and abilities. In addition, they allowed me time to ask questions about the position. I was also given a skills test at the end to put wires in a connector. I flunked the test, but the main guy was nice about it. My only issue was that I asked the group when they would get back to me with a decision and they said in a week. Well, a week passed and nothing. I figured they rejected and ghosted me, so I moved on. Over a month later, out of the blue, I received a pre-employment background check with no job title and no warning. I thought it was a phishing scam and had to email and call HR to confirm just to confirm that it was a legitimate offer. The HR Department really dropped the ball on this one, and it turned me off the job. Later, I was called with an offer, but I didn't like that I had been lied to about the timeframe and told it would be a week when it was over a month as well as HR just contacting me out of the blue with no warning lole a scam. So I rejected the job offer. The lack of professionalism really turned off SUNY Cobleskill. Which is a shame, as I really liked the initial group I interviewed with.
