Only met with the art director for that department, very laid back and relaxed, basic questions. Interview lasted about an hour. Was given a design test, but didn't hear back for several weeks.

Question 1
Why was I interested in working for that department?
J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Scholastic (New York, NY) en nov. 2018
Entretien
General portfolio review + conversation about how my experience relates to the prospective role. We chatted about trends in publishing, what it's like maintaining a production schedule, sample projects that as a new designer I'd be responsible for working on, etc.
After interviewing with the team lead, I was provided a "design challenge" by one of the supporting designers on the team. The goal was to complete and submit it within the week so the team could get a sense of the type of work that would be produced.
After spending a substantial amount of time on it and submitting it to the designer in question, I never received confirmation or any further feedback. Given that this was a lengthy application and interview process, I would have appreciated a communicated no instead of a lack of response.
