Avoid this company at all costs. I applied for a vacancy and soon after I had a few missed calls and an abrupt message with little introduction asking me to call back, however I decided to call the following day. Before I called I received a text simply saying 'Please can you ring me' which I found quite rude, so not the great first impression. I called back and I wanted to ask if there was wiggle room on the salary for the right candidate as I did not want to waste anyone's time going for an interview if the salary range wasn't quite what I was looking for. I got the blunt response of 'we will discuss this at interview'. I then asked when they would like to see me - another blunt response of 'today'. I explained that I was at work in another town and wasn't able to attend, so she suggested Friday. I said that this was very short notice (this was in 2 days time) but I would ask my boss and would get back to her. She messaged me availability and I decided not to pursue this job further so replied with the following message: 'Hi [name], I have decided to decline the offer of an interview. I personally feel that the interview request could have been handled better; the way I have been spoken to regarding the job role and interview was quite abrupt. Companies I have worked for and I, as an employee, pride myself on my level of professionalism and work ethic; the way your company has liased with me has highlighted a manner of working that I am not comfortable with. Please take this in the most constructive way possible and I wish you all the best with filling the position. Kind regards' She then replied with: 'Firstly it's unprofessional to discuss salary increases on the phone before we have even met a potential candidate and secondly it's no problem as we have quite a few candidates lined up who were very accommodating at juggling their diaries around to attend the slotted times they've been allocated - we wish you well in your career and no further correspondence is necessary.' The response I received above was pretty appalling and this is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. I would advise to seek employment elsewhere if that's how the company likes their HR staff to treat potential candidates!
