The process began with a 30-minute recruiter call, followed by a face-to-face interview a week later at the Ringwood office with the hiring manager (HM). The interview included a task to present a topic for 10 minutes. At the start of the interview, I asked the HM if she preferred the presentation to be roleplay-based or a straightforward presentation with a Q&A session at the end. She opted for the latter.
After my presentation, the HM mentioned she was impressed with the level of detail I included, emphasizing that these aspects were essential for executing the task effectively. The session continued with several questions, which I answered confidently and thoroughly. The HM acknowledged my responses as positive and on-point. Overall, I felt the interview went well.
However, the following day, I received a generic rejection email. When I requested feedback, I was surprised to find it completely contradictory to what was discussed during the interview. For example, the HM praised "A" during the interview but, according to the recruiter, the feedback stated the HM didn't like "A." This pattern repeated with several points, making the feedback inconsistent and entirely opposite to the interview discussion.
It seems there is no accountability in the interview process, allowing discrepancies between interview impressions and feedback to go unchecked. It felt as though they had already chosen a preferred candidate and simply went through the motions, providing feedback that was 100% contradictory to what was said during the interview. It’s disappointing to see such unprofessional and unfair practices, especially when candidates invest time and effort in the process. Would never recommend this company and would never apply to them.
