The recruiter Viktoria initially reached out to me regarding an opportunity at Smartcat, and the process started positively. I had a conversation with the hiring manager, which went well, Anirudh(HM) was professional, respectful, and pleasant to speak with. However, the experience significantly declined during the CRO Ron Thomas interview. The interviewer did not even turn on their camera, which felt unprofessional and disengaged. I felt, he is a kind of person I would never want to work with. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of communication afterward. I followed up with the recruiter, Viktoria, for an update, but received no response at all. Being ghosted after investing hours into preparation and completing two interview rounds is extremely disrespectful to a candidate’s time and effort. Overall, this was a very negative interview experience, and unfortunately, I would not recommend spending time interviewing with Smartcat. Also, the role is more suited to Solution Engineer/Deployment Strategist, but just to make the job fancy they named it as Forward Deployed Engineer.
