The process started with short-answer application questions, which is fairly standard, but then continued with six additional questions sent directly by the CEO. After that, I was asked to complete a one-way video interview, followed by several timed personality assessments. Finally, I had a live interview with a VP.
Leading up to that interview, the CEO also requested my thoughts on some of their current tech setups and processes, which required additional time and preparation.
After the VP interview, I followed up by email but never received a response. I fully understand if they chose another candidate, but to go through multiple rounds of work and preparation only to be ghosted feels unprofessional and disrespectful of candidates’ time. At best, it’s a sign of a broken process; at worst, it feels like free consulting.
I hope sharing this experience helps Spinify improve how they treat candidates moving forward.
