Depending on the position, the interview process may vary. Usually it starts with a short phone interview with a recruiter - asking few general questions and tests your English or German skills. It is followed by a personal interview with HR and the hiring manager. In some cases you are invited for a 3rd round interview with a counterpart usually from Germany. If you are applying for a leader position, after passing the initial interview rounds, you are obliged to attend and pass a whole day assessment which will focus to your soft-skills like communication, presentation, negotiation and assertiveness.
