      Entretien

I emailed them my resume and about a week later I was called back. I had a quick phone interview then was asked to meet with them a few days later in person. I met with the HR Manager who was very nice. I took an additional written interview as well. My conversation with her was about 20 minutes long then she asked me to speak with a Buyer on site. Of course I said yes, why not? The Buyer greets me and we are speaking in a conference room....this is where it all goes wrong. This woman was extremely passive aggressive and borderline rude. I am always open to constructive criticism but I felt that she was actually talking me out o the job She began to ask me why do I live in MI if I want to be a buyer? I should have moved to NYC or LA years ago. I have a Master's degree...why do I want to be an assistant? She tells me she never wanted to be a Buyer and fell into the field and she is surprised I went to school for this. Who says this on an interview? I was more than qualified for the position. I don't feel I need to move to NYC or LA there is an industry in Michigan but harder to break into. I was turned off from going back. The next day I get a call to return for a second meeting. I agree but she tells me they won't meet my pay expectations (35-40K) but would pay 30K. I said that's fine I would still love to meet with you. I'm local so I can afford to make concessions for relevant work experience. You can tell she was hoping I said No and wouldn't come in for a second meeting, she was so dry though, I could have been wrong but IDK I really think she was intimidated by my ambition and educational background and maybe knew I would be competition for her if hired or would be "coming" for her job. Not being cocky but I could tell in our first conversation she was one of those people. Either way the day of my 2nd interview there was a snow storm, roads were bad and I had the flu. I called to re-schedule, left a voicemail but never got a return call. I'm 100% ok with that. After reading other company reviews I could tell this what not a place for growth but more or less a resume filler. The company has decent benefits, they are very health conscious and big on giving back to the community. That really stood out to me. The offer reimbursement for your gym membership up to $25 or $30 month. May work some weekends etc. One thing that was odd to me is their "grading system" 4.0, 3.5, and 3.0. This includes helping colleagues and reading literature (you get points based on the type pf material you read), just a honor system that read to be very elementary in my opinion.
