I applied on LinkedIn and had a recruiter contact me. They are hiring a ton in the US and were able to get 4 rounds scheduled promptly. The interviews were a mix of leetcode easies / mediums, and pretty in-depth project based questions which were fair and thorough.
However, the compensation and offer process was very disorganized. Apparently Temu can only provide an offer based on your current level. I am currently a "junior" but I have a competing senior offer. Their compensation team didn't care, and could only offer me a "junior" offer.
The recruiters honestly thought they could make an exception, but the compensation team was very strict.
The engineers and recruiters were great to work with, but I would caution others to apply knowing that there is a lack of awareness on what the "compensation team" can actually offer. If I had known that they could only give me a "junior" offer, I most likely would have cancelled all interviews.
The experience was really really bad, I passed all interview rounds and got all positive feedbacks, and then get declined after discussing about expected salaries. It's just a waste of time.

Question 1
Asked a lot about my past experience, education + working, then asked some easy technical questions.

Recruiter reached out to me on linkedin. One call with recruiter to assess job fit then the hiring manager call with coding challenge. It was isValidBST straight from leetcode, all nodes in left have to be strictly less and all nodes in right have to be strictly greater. Absolutely awful experience like I saw in some glassdoor/indeed reviews. The "code editor" they give you is blocked from running code and from any syntax highlighting etc. it's just a text editor. Interviewer barely said anything during the whole process and asked me to fix syntax issues without any syntax highlighting etc. like anyone seriously does that in real life. Don't even bother wasting your time.
