      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Thames Tideway Tunnel (Londres, Angleterre) en août 2017

      Entretien

1st and 2nd interview. 1st Interview - telephone 2nd Interview - face to face I was not asked any specific questions (except the one below), was asked to talk through cv. Was told the 2nd interview would be a replica of the telephone interview at the beginning of the 1st interview as they wanted to see my facial expressions (I thought this was an odd thing to say). Had a feeling my interview panel had not carried out many interviews prior. Never have I before felt bored during an interview from the lack of engagement. I think a good interview ends up being a two way engagement process. I deliberately let a moment of silence pass at one point to see if the panel would actually engage past bored status. When asked if I had any further questions I thought to myself don't bother. Was told the first interview went well that 2nd interview was to see if there would be a good team fit. I didn't personally feel the fit as felt patronised in some instances, there was a fuss about biscuits and which one I would like and if I wanted to swap biscuits with someone else like we were at a under 5's children's tea party. I wondered if that type of question would be asked of someone from the opposite sex of the same age (e.g. a 35 year old white male). I have never had a discussion in an interview about swapping cookies before (chocolate chip was deemed to be the better option than shortbread) I found this quite sexist. Advise to HR for the interview panel if the interview panel can't think of engaging questions to ask or engage ask the candidate to do a presentation instead to help the interviewers engage a bit more. All in all the interview process was not taxing, there was no explanation or expansion on the strategic direction of the role, projects or an indictation as to what type of a change role this was (e.g. PM delivery change management, Service Change Management, communication change, operational), the only highlight that was given following questioning was adoption and expansition of the way in which the business are currently using an application that had been introduced 1-2 years prior. Considering the headcount for the org, I would say there wasn't much to sell about the role which showed by the interview panels lack of engagement during the interview.
