      Entretien pour Customer Success Manager

      5 sept. 2019
      Employé (anonyme)
      Westwood, MA
      Offre acceptée
      Expérience positive
      Entretien difficile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez The Predictive Index (Westwood, MA) en janv. 2019

      Entretien

The process was about what I expected... Started with the assessment tools that the company offers as a software solution, and continued with a deep dig into competencies from the job requirement standpoint and transitioned to a very clear cultural evaluation. Following the assessments, I moved to a phone interview with the people operations team. I then flew up to the headquarters for a 5 hour on site interview, which was all reimbursed by the company. At the end of the interview, I got a handwritten thank you card from the CEO with a Starbucks gift card.

Don't believe the hype. Predictive Index has the potential to be a great place. It took about 2wks from applying to being rejected with a few emails, one call, and 2 personality tests. Still not sure how looking at shapes and doing Algebra has anything to do with a CSM role. They REALLY believe their hype. I could have as well, if hired. They are FASCINATING. If Slytherin married Hufflepuff, they would head PI. I applied online more than once this year for roles. The first time I interviewed there, it left a very bad taste in my mouth. I was very put off. Anytime you make someone take a test to work with you, I find you suspect. PI makes you take a Behavioral AND Cognitive TEST (but they call it an assessment) before you ever talk to a human. It's what their whole m.o. is, so naturally, applicants to work there would be tasked with using the product. IF you get a call, the interviewer even reads you back your personality test to you on the call with room for feedback. For a company that works with how humans think, over 50yrs now, they do a really bad job hiring their own staff. I know my worth. If they didn't hire ME, they are not very good at their jobs and bringing in fresh faces. The only positive aspect I have about PI is I do know someone who works there, otherwise, nope. Make no mistake, a CSM role is a SALES role. You will be expected to sell their product AND use your tech skills. Naturally, sales people. IT trainers and business analysts are ALWAYS 100% great being placed in the same role. Well, at PI it seeeeeems that's what they ACTUALLY expect. Baffling. The interview went well, but I didn't get the job, so I guess it didn't go that great! I decided to just wing it my first time with their tests. The most recent time I took their tests. I did research and then the Talent person I finally spoke to said that they found that the first test you take with them is the most authentic. But is it really? You still know its a test for a job. It's not like you're taking a voluntary Cosmo personality test. Anywho, the interviewer gave me the vibe that he took the PI as the gospel truth representation of someone's true personality. The interview went well, but tricking people into answers and putting them on edge unnecessarily is just wrong. Honestly, I liked the PI for what the job offered and the salary, but the mental gymnastics of being there would probably wear on me and I would have quit anyway. I can do crazy, but PI is something....else.

I had an initial telephone interview with a Recruiter, followed by a telephone interview with a team member and then a 1/2 day on-site interview with various team members and a culture fit interviewer.
