Application & Recruiter Screen
Format: 30–45 min phone or video call
Focus: Your background, motivation for TikTok, “Always Day 1” culture fit, plus 1–2 high‐level ML questions (e.g., supervised vs. unsupervised learning, evaluation metrics)
2. Technical Online Assessment
Format: Coding problems (LeetCode-medium) + ML fundamentals quiz
Focus: Data structures & algorithms under time pressure, plus short ML/system design questions on feature engineering, model evaluation, etc.
3. Deep‐Dive Technical Round
Duration: ~60 min
Focus: Advanced ML algorithms and mathematical foundations (e.g., collaborative filtering, neural nets, bias–variance trade-off), often with follow-up on your past projects

Tell me about yourself and background introduction
Started with a recruiter screen with simple checks. Then went through 3 rounds of interviews. First 2 rounds were live coding with deep dive on previous projects. 2nd round went really deep of every previous work I did from MLE perspective with being questioned of every possible decision choice. Last was interview with team manager.

three rounds, each has coding + ml basic + resume related questions
understand all the details in resume is important, since might go very deep down the project you have worked on
The first round was mainly a CV walkthrough.
The second round focused in depth on one specific project.
Both rounds also included LeetCode medium-level problems.
The third round was with the hiring manager with both project and problems for their business.
