      Entretien

Reading the below experience I’m reading for an HR Manager interview, I wanted to share mine which was quite different. This was for an HR Manager position at a Southwestern Ontario plant. While my first interview with an HR Representative was great (very conversational & able to share my experience), the second interview I had with a Plant Manager & a different HR Representative was disappointing. What I was greeted with was this sense of hostility & abrasiveness from this Plant Manager. I was told not to put my camera on and while he asked questions, it felt like I was more “questioned”, almost like I had some sort of ulterior motive to work there that didn’t involve me wanting to bring the skills I had and grow my career in this position. On top of that, the HR Rep showed up 15 minutes late and ended up asking the same 2 questions that were already asked at the beginning. At the end, I was asked about my salary and if having no benefits for 2 years would be a “game changer”, which came across as this plant manager intentionally deterring me from wanting the position. There were a few other things, but these are ones that stand out. My feeling is that the Interviewers took a quick look at my resume right before the meeting (& one of them during), were confused with what they read, and had no interest in me prior to even speaking. It definitely was an unfair opportunity and something you shouldn’t have to deal with for a second interview in a professional position at a large organization. It could be fair to say I didn’t interview the greatest, however, future HR candidates, prepare for a plant shop, old school mentality when it comes to the interview with a Plant Manager who may not be knowledgeable about HR & industries outside of food manufacturing.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

      1. Tell me about your experience 2. How can your experience be transferred to this role? 3. What’s the toughest conversation you’ve ever had? 4. What’s your 5 year plan? 5. What are your salary expectations? 6. Is having no benefits for 2 years a gamechanger? Be prepared to answer some of the same questions twice if they show up late & one of the interviewers has already started.
