      Entretien

I did a phone screen with someone in HR, then a video interview with the hiring manager. Following that, I was sent an exercise to work at home and develop a presentation to share with others when I showed up in person 1 week later. When I showed up, there was a panel of 5 people waiting for me. The hiring manager wasn’t present and decided to join in remotely, which was kind of weird. I will say, that first panel asked very fair and good questions. Immediately following the visit, I was asked to return to meet with the hiring manager’s supervisor, as well as the executive officer of the department. I came back the following week, and when I arrived, was told that they had another panel of people for me to meet with first. On this meeting, it was much different. A couple of the people knew how to interview, but a couple of the panelists asked absolutely poor questions. The hiring manager was in person for this. Following that meeting, I went upstairs to meet with the Director and Executive Officer. That was probably the best interview of all of them. It was a very candid discussion and very realistic about expectations and what could get done. When I left the building the HR person told me I’d be hearing back before the vacation break, but nothing happened. When I wrote to her, she told me that the hiring manager decided to take off the following week, and that she had nothing else to share. So after waiting nearly 2 weeks for feedback, I wrote to hr. There was no response. Two days later I wrote again and called. Finally, I get a 1 sentence email telling me that no one will be moving forward in the process. It was kind of cold and distant considering all the time I put into it. I was really disappointed by how i was treated at the end. I definitely wouldn’t have handled things in that manner.

      Question 1

How would you handle a situation where many people came to you with projects they wanted completed immediately, but you couldn’t get to all of them at once.
