One of the worst interview process I went through back in 2019. I was casually looking for opportunities and I was contacted by a recruiter at Udemy, who did a nice job understanding my job profile before reaching out to me, it was a good 30 mins conversation after which he said I will be contacting by a Sr tech recruiter who will take this forward, a lady contacted me after a week and she was not all prepared for the interview in the first place as she had no idea what role I was interested in and what my background was, in fact she thought I was applying for a sr engineering manager role which was not the case, after spending about 45 mins, explaining everything about me which she took notes about she was not even sure which role I fit into and blindly sent me a career link to look for open role and tell her the role that best fits, which I did promptly, she then asked me share my updated resume which I did too, after that there was complete silence for about 5 months, and in fact I had changed my role too and forgot about it, after being quiet for 5 months I get an email from them stating they made decision to not move forward, which was obvious based on the way my second call went with the sr tech recruiter..
Not sure why it would take 5 month for a company to get back to a candidate, if you forgot about a person you spoke to earlier, at least acknowledge the delay in the email which never happened.. Also I hate when people just send a automated email without stating why one was rejected/not selected..
I wish Recruitment in all companies ended up with a feedback sessions to candidates to understand why one was rejected or selected..
