My experience is similar to many others reviewers who gave a low rating. A friend of mine who works for VIPKID referred me to the company and said she had always had a great experience. My experience was just confusing. I completed the application then was told to set an interview time. I prepped for the interview and it went really well. The mentor teacher was very encouraging. She called me afterwards and let me know to keep checking my email to follow the timeline so I wouldn't get behind. I took the time to complete the training (approx. 6 hours) and took the quiz then moved on to mock 1. My mock 1 interviewer was very professional. She gave specific feedback about things I could work on and adjust. So, I watched more Youtube videos, bought more props like whiteboards and flashcards. My mock 2 went really well, I thought. I put together a rewards system and used it throughout the lesson. I did let the interview know I am working hard on 'incidental language' and she agreed on that. She gave me other tips and said she would send in the feedback form. A day later I receive a notice on my vipkid profile saying they received a number of applications from other candidates who were stronger and would not be progressing with my application. I have to say, I was really surprised. Especially with how well the rest of the experience had gone. My main concern is how misleading things went. After the initial interview you are lead to believe you basically have the job, you just need to complete the training. Altogether I spent about three weeks training and interviewing and was told they would not offer me a job. I did email asking for the feedback form so I could improve (or at least try to understand) why I was not offered a job so we will see what they say.
