Positive interview process. First stage was a 1 way video interview. This was a little stressful beforehand but the questions were easier than I had expected. I then had an informal video call with the hiring manager where I could ask questions. The final stage was a 1.5hr technical interview with 3 people from CGG. Here you had to deliver three 5 minute presentations: 1 personal, 1 on your past research and a final one on a CGG technology. At the end of the interview there were some basic seismic imaging/seismic data questions which you should manage with problem solving knowledge and from your research into the CGG technology presentation. Overall, it was a positive experience. One piece of advice is to make sure you do your research into CGG and the technology that they use before both interview stages.

There were 3 stages:
1. Online application - standard application, including motivations, qualifications and skills
2. Video interview - an interview (either with recorded responses or with an interviewer) which seemingly had the intent of identifying whether your values aligned with the company.
3. In person full day interview, including a 10 minute presentation on a recent geophys project completed, individual technical interview and group tasks - there’s a lot of content to prepare and you need to be able to shift your focus onto different tasks throughout the day.
