I gave interview in Webkul in December 2019.
Their HR called me and asked my technical skills and my salary expectations and interview was scheduled.
On day of interview, there were atleast 15-20 candidates present at the same time but there was no sitting arrangement for all of them. Some people were standing because of it.
My interview was conducted by a senior and I answered most of the answers and he was happy and told me.that I will have to clear second round. Second round was conducted by some.senior(might be CEO or CTO).Then he told me that they will offer me team lead position here I will have to handle a team of 5-6 developers. I was so pleased to here that.
After that he asked by salary expectations and I told him the exact amount that I told HR at the time of scheduling interview. The guy simply refused to offer me that much and told that they don't have budget. But I keep on negotiating and told him that pls tell me your final offer. To be honest, I wasn't asking too much as per my experience and the fact that my interview went very well and also they were ready to give me team lead position.
But I wanted to know how much are they willing to offer so he told me.that lets fix interview with HR about your salary.
In HR round, their HR was looking at me strangely.She asked me my salary expectations. After that she started asking me random questions.She wasted around 30 mins on asking silly questions.
In the end, she told me that we are still conducting interviews and we will hire those who are willing to work in their offered salary. I asked her to tell me how much you can offer so that I can accept their offer and receive their offer letter but she didn't responded and told me that they will contact me after 1 week when all interviews have been conducted. Its been 6 months and I am still waiting for their response.
Advice to management- Don't call candidates for interview if you don't have budget. Don't lie to them
