Do not give free business advice - beware of the final presentation ask. The overall initial interview process was average - phone screening by HR and online video interview by the VP of Sales. For the third round, in person group interview with VP Sales & Mkt, I was asked to prepare an in detail an eCommerce business strategy plan for the company. I was uncomfortable doing this as if they did not move forward with me for the role then I just gave them all of my best ideas for free. Why wouldn't they ask skill testing questions instead of asking me to develop a plan for them without having specific internal knowledge? I went against my gut instinct and did a very basic "pillar strategy" overview and did not detail how to get there and why. When I arrived for the in person interview they had misplaced the HDMI cable so I was forced to email my document or the interview could not proceed - huge red flag. Bring your own HDMI cable to avoid this nonsense! I withdrew my candidacy a few days after this interview because of this and several other things were not adding up (For ex: sudden reporting structure change for this role from VP Sales to of Marketing, no work from home flexibility, work/life balance red flags). I truly love the brand and put my best foot forward but did not see the VPs efforts matched to sell me on why I should join the company - the "what is in it for me" factor.
