This was the worst interview experience I have ever had. I had three interviews, each with a different set of interviewers, moving up in rank with each interview. On the first interview, I was asked to give a presentation on the job description and myself. I was quizzed on the jpb description on all three interviews. On my third interview, the room was not well lit. The Executive Director interrupted me several times. When I asked one clarifying question, she said "I am not used to people asking so many questions". When explained that I had previously been accepted to a Fulbright Scholarship, she said she did not think that was true. She also made a comment about how my undergrad "was not prestigious" as I had gone to a State school. It was clear throughout the process that some of the panel members, particularly the ED, were intending to intimidate me. As someone in the social service field, working with employment agencies, I found this lack of empathy and warmth inappropriate and incredibly unprofessional for the field.
All in all, it was clear that the interview team did not think I was at all qualified, which was very confusing to me for a third interview. I felt like I had wasted hours interviewing when I should have been weeded out during the first interview.
