I applied for an internship through Indeed and received a call for a telephonic interview. During the call, I was asked about my location, willingness to relocate, and salary expectations. After the discussion, I was invited to attend an in-person interview at their office in Coimbatore. I am from another city, approximately 150 km away from the interview location. Since this was an in-person interview, my father accompanied me, and we started our journey early in the morning to reach the office on time. We returned to our hometown only at night after the interview, which involved significant travel time, effort, and expense. Finding the office was also difficult because there was no visible name board at the location that was shared with me. After asking nearby people for directions, I was eventually able to locate the office. The interview process consisted of a technical round and an HR round. The technical discussion was mainly based on the skills and projects mentioned in my resume. During the HR round, I was again asked about my salary expectations. Although I had already informed them about my relocation requirements, there was no clear discussion regarding the stipend amount. I was told that the company had previously not provided stipends to interns but had recently started doing so. However, the stipend details were never disclosed. At the end of the interview, I was informed that the company would contact me regarding the outcome. However, it has been over a month, and I have not received any update, feedback, rejection, or follow-up communication. My concern is not the interview result itself but the lack of transparency and communication throughout the process. Since candidates may travel long distances and spend considerable time and money to attend interviews, it would be helpful if companies clearly discussed compensation details beforehand and provided timely updates regarding the interview outcome. Interview Experience Rating: 2/5 Pros: Technical interview was straightforward and based on my resume. Cons: Lack of communication, unclear stipend information, difficulty locating the office, and no follow-up after the interview.
