I applied by sending an email to their company contacts. I received a call four days later and an invitation to the face to face interview. While preparing for it, I found out that the company got caught in a big scandal a few years ago. Hence, during the interview, after a brief presentation of myself, we discussed the current state of the company. Then, a 30 minutes subtitling test followed. I did not receive an offer because, as they said, even though I did very well, so did the other candidate. Plus, s/he had experience with the tool they use. I asked for thorough feedback regarding the test, to understand and improve my skills, but received only vague answers. Two months later, I received another call since that candidate left for a better job offer, and I was their second-best candidate. However, they needed someone with immediate availability, so they were considering other options too. My availability was no longer as immediate as they desired. Therefore, for the second time, I was rejected. This time, the new candidate had a higher score in the test (I have never received my score as the test got "lost") and s/he was a better fit for the team (which I never met).
