The interview was a long haul, compared to the others i had so far. It took me 3 hours engaging in 3 processes (written test, hiring manager interview as well as HR interview), which required me to have taken a half-day leave from work.
The entire interview process seems hardly organized, where it took me 15-20 mins waiting in between sessions without knowing what was going on, besides random re-sequencing of the interview sessions as arranged and notified.
The content in the written test was fair, where it queried a few technical questions of relevance to what has been written in the JD. Yet, given the limited time, the questions, as if they were open-ended, were not properly articulated to offer a defined scope for candidates in knowing what exactly the interviewers were looking for, especially when he/she had expected answers themselves.
The hiring manager, with due respect, was entirely not knowledgeable in the field of IT Security where he/she did not understand the market landscape nor market regulations/standards, except for spelling out reg names on JD. The hiring manager was not even professional enough to have performed preparations and due diligence in understanding the candidate's profile before asking the relevant questions in assessing his/her applicability.
The follow-up was slipshod and rude as well. Overall I would say the experience was rather negative.
Personally speaking, having dug deeper into relevant profiles prior to this interview, I had reckoned their reporting line of persons were with mere backgrounds from IT general governance, as opposed to information security which is considered more technical and has been a hot topic only in these recent years. Unfortunately, for anyone who is interested in the role, you may be prepared for closing technical communication gaps with relevant management regionally on-the-go.
