      Entretien

I was first contacted then ghosted by a recruiter. I reached out months later to another, went through a phone interview, and was invited for three same day interviews with the team. I was told that there was no job description for the role, but there is a maximum salary limit. During the three thirty minute interviews I was asked very basic questions about my experience that suggest that they were seeing my resume for the first time. All three were rushed, and all three interviewers were clearly untrained in interviewing. They looked into their laptops more or less the entire time. Nothing was asked about my fit with company culture, unique skill set, or personality and attitude, and after three interviews I still had no idea what the position would entail. Instead, two interviewers talked about placing me in completely different functions and a third did not even mention it. All three instead chose to focus on getting across the fact that this is not a 9-6 job, and that I would be expected to work long hours, though the definition of these long hours varied greatly between the three. One said it was a daily 9-8, another that it was 21 hour days during 4 periods of unspecified length each year, and the third just said that while there are long hours, there are definitely limits and the work is rewarding. When I asked about how their recent leadership change was affecting their vision and direction, I was met with a strangely dismissive and defensive, “it’s not that recent, and after hearing from the CEO of another regional e-commerce giant I am confident that what we have is the best we could get”. I truly felt that I walked out of there with no sense of what type of work they would want me to do, for how long, and what the environment is aside from the fact that they seem to push you to your absolute limits and want you to waive your right to any semblance of work life balance and ask no questions, all for a non competitive salary. After sending thank you notes and enquiring into when I could expect to hear back from them to all three interviewers as well as the recruiter, I never heard back from any of them. It is infuriating to waste so much time interviewing and not even hear back from a recruiter saying this was not a good fit. Overall a very negative experience. There were red flags all throughout the process that I chose to ignore out of curiosity for what this overhyped company has to offer. Deeply unprofessional, understaffed, and with a very poor sense of culture, ethics, and etiquette. They will never compete for top regional talent at this rate, though I get the impression that is not their aim anyway.
