My interview with HCL went very well, and within five minutes I was informed that I had been selected for the next stage, with HR expected to follow up. However, a week passed without any communication. Then unexpectedly, an HR representative messaged me on LinkedIn saying the position had been lost to another vendor. This was very disappointing. If they were not planning to move forward, they could have communicated that I didn’t clear the round or that they weren’t proceeding with further interviews. Instead, I was left waiting for a week with false expectations, only to receive that update later, which felt unprofessional.
