In coordination with Van Pool Transportation / NRT Bus Inc., Salem Public Schools Department of Transportation has BusPatrol, a camera attached to the driver’s side of a school bus to record oncoming, errant drivers ignoring the bus stop arm, thus endangering students and surrounding drivers. "This [BusPatrol] pilot program is an excellent opportunity to improve student safety on the bus and a great example of how we can harness innovation and technology to support our schools,” said Cathy Spinney of NRT Bus, “We thank Salem Public Schools for their partnership and look forward to another productive and safe school year."
