One Month, One Country, One Charity. This month, our colleagues in Australia have nominated Movember. Movember fundraisers are a global community of fired up Mo Bros and Mo Sisters – making a difference in mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men. Also, our colleagues in Australia have started a page for making individual contributions to support this cause. Join the team or support by cheering them on!
We are made up over 40 nationalities with colleagues who speak more than 20 languages. For European Day of Languages, we’ve taken the opportunity to celebrate some of our linguistic differences. Some of our colleagues have shared the popular sayings in their different languages. Thank you to everyone who participated!
One Month, One Country, One Charity. This month, our colleagues in Switzerland have nominated the Barakah Charity. On September 8, Morocco was hit by a devastating earthquake that killed more than 2,900 people and left 5,500 people injured. Barakah Charity, a Zurich based charity company, is working to bring the necessary emergency aid to those affected by this earthquake by providing essential items. In July and August FE fundinfo employees across our global locations are taking part in Refresh Fridays. We invite colleagues to keep meetings to a minimum, giving us time to recalibrate for the following week. We also aim to finish early, kick-start the weekend and do something that serves our wellbeing!
Different FE fundinfo locations have been enjoying sports day in various ways, whether a game of chess, badminton, mölkky, rounders, an egg 'n'spoon race or something in between, we've been valuing the opportunity to spend some time together away from our desks. Here are some glimpses of our sporting endeavours!
Our ethos as a global company, is to 'think global and act local' and as such, we recognise that our local communities are an important part of who we are. We actively support the communities where we work and encourage our people, no matter where they are based, to make positive contributions to wider society. ‘Community Day – a day to give back’, provides FE fundinfo employees with the opportunity to contribute their time to a local cause that matters to them. In Q1, our global offices engaged in a range of charitable activities, such as, gardening and washing benches at an old age home, constructing flat-packed toys for children and adults with learning difficulties, tree plantation drives and supporting local tribes.
One Month, One Country, One Charity This month our colleagues in the UK nominated the British Red Cross, Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal. On 6 February, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake had struck south-eastern Turkey in the early hours of the morning followed by a series of powerful aftershocks and a 7.7 magnitude earthquake nine hours later. Another earthquake of 6.4 magnitude struck on 20 February. Over 55,000 people have died as a result of the earthquakes, with many thousands more injured in the freezing temperatures of the area. Donation to this charity will provide support and aid that includes essentials, shelters, first aid, rescue operations and providing psycho-social support.
One Month, One Country, One Charity. Last month, our colleagues in Spain nominated Fundación Aladina, which provides comprehensive support to children and teenagers all around Spain suffering from serious illnesses. The charity believes in giving equal importance to physical and mental health and provides psychological, emotional, and material assistance to all the children and their families. Aladina helps more than 1,500 children every year through its work in more than 18 partner hospitals, and FE fundinfo is proud to have donated to this noble cause. Last month, our colleagues in France nominated the charity Maison Magdalena that homes women who have been victims of violence, modern slavery and prostitution. Maison Magdalena provides vital support in teaching them to read, write and speak French, learn new professional skills and work in their permaculture vegetable garden.
