We are pleased to announce that Marcus, our Inpatient Adolescent Unit Milieu Coordinator, has been selected as Employee of the Month! Marcus has been a shining example of service excellence since he joined our team in August 2023. He consistently demonstrates a caring attitude towards his patients and colleagues and his commitment to ensuring the unit's smooth operation is impressive. Marcus can often be observed conducting safety checks, engaging with patients and maintaining a clean and secure environment. His reliability, dedication to his work and willingness to assist with training new staff and maintaining a safe milieu are truly admirable. Unit 1A is fortunate to have Marcus on their team!
It is wonderful when two organizations realize they align in their programs to provide comprehensive solutions of care for their shared community of patients. Way to go, Verge Therapy! Learning about your programs and services, especially those for women and the LGBTQIA+ communities, are so needed and valuable. It was a genuine thrill spending time with Samantha O'Sullivan (pictured here with our own Director of Business Development, Brian), seeing your enthusiasm and passion for the work at Verge Therapy.
When you meet amazing people in the community doing mission-driven work, making a difference in their community, you need to share it. Our Director of Business Development, Brian Miller, had the honor of sharing a coffee and a lot of electric energy exchanging ideas to support local women this morning with Nelly (Julnelle) Fortes of Rhode Island RAPHA Project. Nelly and her team run support groups for women who have struggled with trauma, substance use and mental health. RAPHA brings women together to drive healing by people who are like them and who can relate to them. To learn more about RI RAPHA or contact them, check out their website, https://lnkd.in/eC88nm-N. Staff were offered a fun and colorful chocolate pudding bar to celebrate national chocolate pudding day and honor the final “wear your pride colors Friday” of #PrideMonth. As pride month comes to a close, we want to acknowledge the importance of celebrating every identity. We stand proudly with the LGBTQIA+ community; not just this month but every day. Mental health matters and so does belonging. Whether you're on a journey of self-discovery, healing or simply seeking support, you deserve to feel seen, heard and safe. This pride month, we reaffirm our commitment to providing compassionate, affirming care for all. You are valid. You are loved. You are never alone. Happy pride month from Fuller Hospital!
When we asked staff about Sherri, our newest Employee of the Month, their faces lit up and it was clear why. Below are just a few of the kind words shared about Sherri: "She’s always moving, always helping.” “She knows her limits and steps back when needed, that’s real professionalism.” “She’s therapeutic, supportive and gives the best life advice.” Sherri is known for her strong work ethic, respectful boundaries with patients and unwavering support for her team. She leads by example and is admired by staff. Even though she’s currently on light duty, the team is eagerly awaiting her return. Everyone agrees, she absolutely deserves this recognition. Congratulations, Sherri, we’re lucky to have you!
We're celebrating HospitaWeek! Our staff are enthusiastic about participating in the array of events and activities scheduled throughout the week. "Memory Lane Monday" featured decade day, where staff wore attire from their favorite decade and enjoyed candy from a vintage candy bar and delicious root beer floats.
Wild West Wednesday, as part of Hospital Week, featured exceptional costumes and an omelet bar in the morning. Leadership personally delivered orders to staff on the unit as a gesture of gratitude and appreciation. In the afternoon, staff savored southwestern egg rolls, fried mac and cheese and delicious empanadas.
Yesterday, in celebration of hashtag#NursesDay, our nursing staff were delighted to discover a spectacular breakfast and luncheon prepared by our chef, Jack, in their honor. Happy Nurses Day to our exceptional nurses who selflessly provide outstanding care to our patients every day! Your dedication and compassion shine brightly every day, thank you all!
