July was our first ever Growth Month, dedicated to thinking about our careers and putting our Think Big 🚀 and Own It 💪 values into action. The month provided the perfect opportunity to think about how we want to grow and develop our careers, with Trainliners having career conversations with their managers and completing their Personal Development Plans too! And if that wasn't enough, we also enjoyed a whole bunch of learning-inspired activity throughout the month. Here's what we got up to: 💡 Hosted development and data workshops to help us focus on our personal growth and become more data-driven 📚 Shared books, TED Talks and other learning recommendations to help inspire and challenge our mindsets 💬 Learnt from awesome Trainliners from different areas of the business through employee spotlights 🎨 Got arty as part of our July Monthly Meet-Up 🧘 Reaped the zenefits (😉) of yoga to help power our personal development 🧠 Put our knowledge to the test with quizzes and our very own Trainline Crossword with prizes up for grabs What a month - bring on next year! 👏
Last month, Trainliners from all corners of Europe gathered in London during our Growth Month to celebrate technology advancements, learn from experts, and embrace the future of travel at our annual Trainline Tech Summit. 🎉 We’re super excited to share some awesome highlights of the 3 days... 🎤 Our stages had an impressive lineup of speakers, including 70 phenomenal Trainline speakers who shared their knowledge and expertise. Their talks covered everything from AI-driven enhancements and revolutionary improvements in app development, to user experiences and sustainable practices, plus loads more! 🌍 And let's not forget the 7 excellent guest speakers from various industries who provided fresh insights, diverse perspectives, and valuable experiences. 🏎 Amazon Web Services (AWS) bought out the competitive spirit among our brilliant engineers as they raced AI-powered cars on the DeepRacer track (check out the winning team below! 🏆) 💡 We put Trainliners in the driving seat with our "Unconference" where our CTO, Milena Nikolic, answered questions about everything and anything we wanted to hear. 🌿 And to top it off, we marked the end of the Tech Summit at the Barbican Centre Conservatory which was a perfect setting for networking, building connections, and celebrating the awesome Trainliners who contributed throughout the week. A huge shoutout to our organisers, speakers, and every single person who made the event successful - what an extraordinary few days it was! 🤩

Wednesday was All-Hands day at Trainline - our monthly opportunity to get together and hear about some of the key things happening across our business!🙌 This month we heard insights into some of our FY24 strategic themes and all about the I Came By Train event we hosted at The Gherkin in London on Monday!🚆🤩 And it wouldn't be a Trainline All-Hands day without lots of tasty food, so we celebrated with some lunch and sweet treats across all of our offices - Pancake and Valentine's Day themed of course!🥞❤️
New CFO Alert!🚨 That's right, we've got a new Chief Financial Officer keeping us on track here at Trainline, but he's definitely not new to being a Trainliner. After 7 years of moving through various senior Finance roles, including his most recent one as our VP of Finance, Peter Wood has been promoted to our new CFO and we couldn't be happier about it. Congratulations Pete!🤩
We’re pleased to share that we’re welcoming Milena Nikolic as our new Chief Technology Officer. Joining us from Google Play where she led the engineering teams in charge of app distribution and developer experience, Milena is bringing her expertise in designing systems and providing technical leadership across products related to search, mobile services and software distribution. At Trainline she’ll be focussed on driving innovation to make train travel even more seamless for our customers and supporting our rail industry partners in leveraging the Trainline platform to accelerate growth in passenger numbers. We’re very excited to have her onboard!
