About the Role:

As a travel retail department store manager is responsible for for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a store located in the airport. This includes managing staff, ensuring that sales goals are met, and maintaining the store's inventory. He/She must also work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure that the store is stocked with a variety of products that appeal to travelers. Additionally, they are responsible for creating a positive shopping experience for customers and resolving any customer service issues that may arise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

Drive the store sales and maximize Profitability

  • Manage and deliver store’s/outlet’s sales performance.
  • Facilitate implementation of product/ sales strategies.
  • Communicate information on sales goals and targets to the team on continuous basis.
  • Keep the team updated daily on Conversion Rate and Average Transaction Value with the team on regular basis. * Monthly Plan forecast.

Develop Team

  • Instil Valiram's Entrepreneurial Spirit within the Team
  • Consistently demonstrate appreciation and encouragement
  • Facilitate learning opportunities among team members
  • Maintain effective staffing with top performing team by actively networking, recruiting, hiring and succession planning.

Delivery Operations Excellence

  • Execute and maintain compliance of Store SOP at all times.
  • This includes Store Opening & Closing/ Cost Control/ Roster & Manpower Planning/ Visual Merchandising/ POS/ Inventory.
  • Cash collection accuracy and timeliness.
  • Set up and maintain visual merchandising displays for promotional and seasonal activities. e.g. EOS, SASS.

Brand Management:

  • Maintain and enhance the brand’s image and identity.
  • Ensure all stores standards to reflect the brand's luxury positioning and adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Work with Visual Merchandising to make sure that the store environment is enticing, effective and in line with Brand Guidelines.
  • Strategize and implement brand communication needs in keeping with the integrity of the brand and regional appeal.

Inventory Management

  • Feedback with merchandising department to manage full price and mark down / end of season sales, intake margins, level of mark down activities and terminal stock.
  • Evaluate stock requirements and ensuring timely replenishment.
  • Ensure maximum stock turns and controlling aged inventory
  • Guarantee Inventory Integrity.

Budget Management:

  • Achieve business plan profit
  • Plan and maximize the sales and profit contribution of the Brand
  • Develop annual business plan to reflect brand positioning, negotiate key aspects of the planned delivery with the brand principal.
  • Monitor and report on budget performance, adjusting as needed.

Team Leadership

  • Managing rosters of all staff/all stores and be responsible for Store team performance.
  • Conduct timely staff appraisal and quarterly performance review.
  • Improve staff morale leading to positive and dynamic working attitude.
  • Staff to conduct themselves in a proper and professional manner in compliance with the

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in brand management within retail or Travel Retail industry.
  • Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong in business acumen in Travel Retail
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English. Additional language is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of luxury fashion and on trend in market.
  • Strategic thinking, strong organizational and stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical, meticulous, good with numbers
  • Excellent communication, result orientated and self-motivated
  • Proficient in MS office
  • Willingness to travel as needed for industry events and brand activities.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong desire in driving sales and team positive attitude in customer service.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Understanding of travel retail concepts.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and tracking.
