    Avantages

    Free lunch and snacks are good.

    Inconvénients

    Distributed engineering teams with widely varying ideas of proper engineering. Two second hacks are preferred instead of spending five minutes to do something correctly. Horrible inter-team communication. Each side of the world despises the other.

    Figure out the teams communication issues first and quick. Doesn't take long to see how toxic everyone is and new hires will not stay.

    Avantages

    Startup environment with little bureaucratic overhead. Very engineering driven company with smart people.
    High compensation and benefits. Free lunch and snacks.

    Inconvénients

    Parts of the development team is in Berlin. Time difference can slow down communication.

    - Good manager (at least in my department)
    - Really nice and family-like team atmosphere (German office)
    - Technically sound product

    Inconvénients

    - Lots of uncertainties in top leadership on my final months there
    - Priorities changing all the time in product development

    About a year in, he bolts on the mess he created. Moving on to AWS to screw things up there

    But hey, the snacks remain outstanding

    Avantages

    I had the opportunity to join Datameer October 2017 and it was one of my best decisions. I joined to lead the Global Education business/organization and I was fortunate enough to have a rock solid team. What I really valued about the company was the customers and the employees. I worked directly with Global Sales and the Customers on a daily basis and sales team embraced the value of education and adoption and the customers were eager to want to use the product and get full ROI. The new version 7.x is slick, user friendly, and the customers are responding very favorably and want to share with other business units inside their company because of the value add. The employees are absolutely amazing. I was in the SF HQ office and the team work from HR, finance, marketing, sales, IT, professional services, and support was one I have never experienced. Our CFO and CEO was in the office working side-by-side all the employees, there to support and listen. Christian the CEO would go and have coffee with any and all employees and ask the question "what do you think of Datameer?, what do you think we could do different or better". He was a true pleasure to work with and I am one of his biggest fans. Teamwork, camaraderie, and smart people is what makes up Datameer. The only reason I left was I received an offer for my dream job 15 minutes from my home. My experience at Datameer was fantastic and I am not exaggerating. Datameer continues to hire strong top talent and I would recommend working at this company. I wish Datameer the best success and it is a company I will continue to follow and support.

    Inconvénients

    Still going through growing pains but expected just like every other company large and small.

    Continue to support your employees and their careers, hire top talent, and encourage your existing employees to share their work experience at Datameer. People need to know if they are looking at joining Datameer it is a fun and get company to grow personally and professionally.

    Avantages

    There are no pros unfortunately, there was a good product that met the needs of a technology that is now declining massively.

    Food variety is good in the kitchen.

    Inconvénients

    Management are continually changing direction, making strange decisions, the quotas they have given their teams are completely unachievable.

    Its like they cant accept the inevitable that this company is finished....it address a problem that does not exist.

    Zero new logos for a year tells you everything you need to know.

    There is none as they don't listen. In fact they don't even agree between themselves.

    Avantages

    Most of the staff is great, good product, some really smart people

    Inconvénients

    It only takes a few bad apples...some highly caustic team members, astonishing lack of respect, misogynistic, acerbic... I should have paid attention to the negative reviews on here. I thought they were from embittered ex-employees until I got to witness it firsthand.

    Place an importance on collaboration, team-work, higher positive people. Mordacious teammates are extremely counter-productive and add undo burden to progress and product development. Establish well-documented procedures, policies, and processes.

    Avantages

    Smart engineering group that is trying to keep a tired product relevant

    Inconvénients

    Constant churn, zero accountability from leadership team. Leaders have no idea what to do to grow company. Miserable work environment. Leaders have turned over just about everyone and now their people are leaving . No new logo velocity. This company has a lot in common with Bruce Willis in the Six Sense. It is dead but they just don't know it yet. When will this bad movie end?

    Collaboration - Teams work together to solve problems creatively. The company culture seeks feedback and improvement regularly. When things need improvement, we work together to fix it!

    Opportunity - Team members encouraged to take on projects above and beyond their day job. This is double-edged and not a fit for every candidate. If you're ambitious about your career and interested in growing with the company or building new skills, you will not have a shortage of opportunities to take them on.

    Work/Life Harmony - We work hard and drive results focused measurements for performance. At the same time, we respect your life outside the office and are flexible with vacation and time off midday for coffee. We identify the expectations and responsibilities for you and expect you to cover them but you control your schedule.

    Inconvénients

    Small Business - This isn't exclusively a "con" but is a reality at Datameer. The company operates with essential staff but not a lot of extras. At times, this entails taking on extra responsibilities and filling in gaps when teammates are on vacation. This style is not a good fit for candidates seeking to only perform bare minimum duties.

    High Attrition - Like many companies rooted in today's technology industry, many employees leave the company within 1 or 2 years of starting. This can be particularly disrupting in the small business setting where many roles do not have redundancies on staff.

    Formalize a recurring "state of the union" type communication globally. There's a lot of communication that happens socially instead of formally and it breeds a rumor culture. Control the message directly to the whole company to minimize rumors.

    Avantages

    I've been at Datameer for almost a year now. While I've seen the result of several big changes, it's clearly on the upside. It's a company with genuine team members, clear opportunities for growth, and a management team that cares about career development. Colleagues are very competent, collaborative, respectful and open to new ideas. There's great work life balance, and not to mention the awesome benefits, lunches, team outings, and snacks.

    Inconvénients

    Having a company that has an international presence can make it challenging to get face time with people.
