      Avantages

      The team is friendly and they do everything possible educate you and are always open to suggestions. The pay is decent. They pay your insurance. The office premises are nice. You get a UN agency on you CV. There’s a possibility to attend language courses.

      Inconvénients

      There is no possibility of getting hired after the fellowship (it is stated in the contract), so it shall be considered only as a way to gain experience. You need to figure out taxes on your own.

      Avantages

      The only benefit is the salary.

      Inconvénients

      The current management practices are causing some concern among the employees. The new contracts have a five-year fixed term with no career perspectives. They see people as disposable things. There are also reports of 24-hour work expectations, which may require some attention. Some very high level managers lack experience. The incentive program appears to be focused on reducing staff and using consultants, which may put undue pressure on those who remain. It's important to ensure that the organization's values align with the UN mission and are not merely being used for promotional purposes, which is the case of WIPO.
