Avantages

-truly global environment -ability to travel -ability to learn and understand different cultures in work -carrier development opportunities towards mgmt positions -good compensation package, paid overtime hours If you are a starter, with little or no work experience, with lower educational background, but interested in moving up the ladder, energetic in social settings, "politically correct", then this company is for you.

Inconvénients

-disappointing overall level of professional IT knowledge (many IT analysts doesnt even have an IT degree!!) -little or no opportunities for professional development -low employee morale at the bottom level (lots of starters) -open office is noisy in certain countries -all new employees are treated as starters If you are a trained professional, with many years of work experience at different organizations, have a strong educational background, prefer to act rather than talk, strive on proffessional development, then this company is not for you.

Avantages

Great all around compensation - from salary, benefits (401k & pension & flexible work], medical [fantastic] Great people - at the company you understand everyone around is came from being one of the smartest people at their previous job/university. Within IT the overwhelming majority of people really care for you, this feels way more collaborative than competitive. Career Development - lots of opportunities to grow in breadth of experience to get deep in your skills and grow in leadership skills

Inconvénients

Work Politics - being such a large corporation with a lot of history there is a tendency to be work politics/red tape sheerly because of the size of the company. However, it is not really bad if you are willing network , put yourself out there to talk with leaders, and be a normal hard-working enjoyable employee. If you do these two things you will succeed at ExxonMobil.
