As a former RBC financial planner, this was the worst job decision I ever made. - Avis employé Financial Planner RBC

Avantages

The company has strong brand recognition and plenty of money for advertising. Products are good. Plenty of opportunities to move around.

Inconvénients

Ultimately you need to lose your conscience if you want to succeed here. The corporate culture is riddled with heavy politics. Although there is opportunity, you need to drink the corporate Kool Aid to get ahead. Managers focus on heavy micro-managing of daily activities. There is no leeway to do things any other way. If they screw you over like they did to me, don't bother fighting in court because they'll grind you into dust. Clients are secondary to profits and policy.

Avantages

Stable work life balance. The culture is really great, very easy to work with complex management and managers. Willing to help you grow and learn with clients

Inconvénients

Not a lot of room for growth unless you come in the door with that expectation. It can be very easy to get stuck in this role as your pay slowly increases and the job title mostly stays the same. Associate promotions and raises are rarely given and take a lot of coercion to get.
