First off, I have no experience with retail store or grocery stores in general. My background is completely different. I applied due to maybe moving to the city that the job was in. I interviewed first with the V.P. of the district. I then met with a currently District Manager to get a feel of what the job is and actually speak to someone whom was doing it now. Lastly I met with the Director of Operations for that the new district. Overall, I had great discussions with everyone about the job itself and what would be required of me. Since this was a new district, they couldn't tell me where I would be located but I had a year of training and could do that in any city that Aldi was located. The training would be 6 months of working in an Aldi store and then 6 months of actually learning / doing a district managers job. After speaking more with everyone, it is clear that you have to be flexible to moving every two years or so to another area and if you want to move up in the company. I unfortunately can't do that with my family, (my husbands job can't allow it.) Overall, I got the feeling that they were looking for a recently collage grad cause that is what they usually hire for this position. Experience was fine and I enjoyed getting in interview practice and learning more about the company.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Generally questions about leadership, operations, etc. Why I was looking to leave my currently company? Strengths, weakness?

First round interview was s video interview with each question having a prerecorded question, then 30 seconds of prep time to answer the question with about 2 minutes of time. You sit at a device of your choosing and stare at yourself the entire time.
Communications started with 3rd party recruiter. Behavioral interview, asked about experience, leadership, communication abilities, weaknesses you have. Moved on to next round. In-person interview following this with Aldi executive. Similar format to initial interview, mainly behavioral, noticed a complete lack of organization.
Every question in 2nd round was a follow-up to the previous question. Having interviewed for many roles across many industries over the years, this interview was an interrogation, not a conversation. Experience led me to believe that Aldi, or this specific interviewer, struggles to see candidates for the District Manager role beyond 'assets'. Makes you wonder if corporate Aldi has a similar effect on other peoples souls. See for yourself!
