Initially contacted via email by a talent acquisition employee to arrange for an in-person interview. A day or so before my scheduled interview, I was contacted via telephone by a different talent acquisition employee to go over some basic gatekeeper questions. When asked my salary expectations, I managed to get out of him what the anticipated salary range was for the position. Fast forward to the interview itself, I interviewed with a supervisory attorney in a conference room, with her managing attorney via a weblink on a laptop interviewing me as well. Both were quite friendly and didn't fire off too many of the standard interview questions. Basic questions about my background and experience, the type of work they anticipated for the position, and the salary and benefits. The salary range they discussed in the interview was somewhat lower than what I'd been told by the talent acquisition employee over the phone. Turns out my experience qualified me for a somewhat lower position than what I applied for (Trial Attorney vs. Senior Trial Attorney). Not sure I agree with their assessment, but either way I felt like I'd been the victim of a sort of bait and switch. I was told they would be making an offer within the next week or so. I followed up with a thank you email to both interviewers but received no reply from the company until a couple of weeks later I received a standard thanks but no thanks email from talent acquisition.
