There are many candidates everytime they have a position. Have an internal indication helps you to be in contact with the executives faster than others.
I was asked to do a presentation of my current products and services to executives at CA. After the presentation numerous questions where asked in terms of pricing and technical integration requirements

First contact with the internal recruiter, than interview with the EMEA BU leaders and than with the local Country leader. Very long process in order to meet all the stakeholders
