      Entretien pour Consultant (?)

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Capco (Édimbourg, Écosse)

      Entretien

It was a multi-stage process.... 1st) Informal interviews (HR then senior consultant) This was fairly straight forward and seemed to be a gauge of the interviewees personality. The interviewer seemed to share similar interests, and it went well. The HR rep kept repeating the same phrases/questions over and over, which was slightly mind numbing. He also wouldn't answer my questions about the reality of the role. I asked what the job function was, to which he responded 'consultant'. I asked again as I was aware that prior candidates have described it as a body-shop (strange phrase!), to which he repeated 'consultant'. My 'spidy senses' started tingling as i registered the 'bot' response. As most will be aware, when the job function is opaque at the HR level it's usually a massive red flag. What it indicated, I will never know. 2nd) Repeat of the first stage with a competency test This was an on-site interview (straightforward process questions). I sensed that the interviewer had a chip on her shoulder before we even entered the room, and which subsequently became apparent thereafter. When the focus turned to the details of my daily tasks (as opposed to the achievements), combined with discussion of my feelings regarding BAU, I knew this wasn't a typical consulting role. Then I was handed the competency Qs which had the job function indicated at the top. I smiled as I realised I had wasted my day. In conclusion, I would say that my experience matched the view of Capco from within the consulting industry. Overworked and insecure, unfortunately.
