Two phone interviews... First one around 20 min, the second one a little over an hour... Then moved to face to face interview in irvine, ca. The face to face interview was a little over 2:30 hours. Durring the interview there is two sets of interviews. The first one is with someone from HR.... That one is just a formality so they cover their legal bases. The next one is with internal sales manager and a random manager from whatever department has someone free. This is the important part of the interview, the part that misinterpreted. The key is to be rock solid on your "sales pitch," they want a corporate robot, so stick to the same old features and benefits talk that is in 99.99% of all outdated sales processes. Say something like " at American funds our portfolio managers have on average 21 years with the company, so that will give you the peace of mind knowing clients money is invested with people who know what they are doing." All in all.... Basic interview, with basic managers, who are looking for basic people who will not bring anything different to the table or challenge anything.

Received an email reply to a resume submitted online. Original email was a form email, with solicited phone interview dates that had already passed. Replied back to state I was interested, and were there additional dates I could interview as those listed had already passed (copy and paste form letter wasnt updated prior to sending to me). 1st interview was a phone screen (10 minutes). Was told to expect another call to setup a face to face meeting in coming days. Received call, setup meeting (which was over 2 weeks later) for followup interview. Face to face was a walkthrough of the campus, followed by (2) 1 hour interviews with 2 different department managers. 1st interview was very good, felt confident in my presentation of resume/ history/ STAR based interview questions. 2nd interview was less productive, like it was filler to get to the last few minutes where they ask you to present American Funds (role play presentation) as if you were pitching a client. They do provide you content to study in advance (which I did), but give you no real insight into presentation style/ expectation. They leave it to you in real time to decide how you want to present (conversational, presentation, ect. ) I thought I did well given my background in sales/ financial services. I was told to expect to hear back from recruiter on hiring decision by late week (interview was on a Tues) or by the Monday of the following week. Sent post interview followup emails to each person involved thanking them for their time and asking if there was any additional context I could provide to help with the calibration for hiring, and if not thanking them and awaiting their reply. Got zero replies to the emails, no "thank you" or "we also enjoyed sitting down..."... nothing. After the week passed, and Monday passed with no reply to my emails or feedback on hiring/ decline to hire, I reached out again (over a week after the final interview). Again, no reply to emails. Waited another 2 days. Finally, I reached out to the Recruiting professional who setup the interview by phone. Sent to voicemail. Requested via voicemail if the hiring decision had been made, and if so, could they reach out to me so I could either followup on next steps, or move on to next potential employment opportunity. No call back. About 10 minutes after I sent the call, I received a form letter from Capital Group saying they were moving on in the process with other candidates and "good luck". No feedback on the interview, no information about what would need worked on prior to looking at other roles. Nothing. I had to keep checking back to even get a decline from them, which took 10 days (and almost a week after their hiring decision timeline). I was surprised with the size and prestige of a company like Capital Group that they essentially "ghosted" me as a candidate.

I was contacted by their HR recruiter. We had a 20 minute phone conversation about the position. I was asked to move forward and went through a 3-interview process in one day at their facility.
