Selection process started off really positive, the standard applied online (March 2021), did some psychometric testing (the usual, numerical etc, one was a game which was fun). Pre-recorded video interview (April 2021). Overall so far positive experience and speedy response time to progress through each stage. I was then successfully after all that and invited to what is their “Assessment Centre” stage (May 2021) but due to covid was held virtually. This was done via a case study where I had to identify and resolve problems etc. This was sent 24hrs prior. On the day it was a 45mins chat with someone 1 on 1, walking them through the problems I have identified and my solutions etc. This was actually real good in having real business scenarios and context. I enjoyed it. After that I was told I would find out next week which was fine…. Skip to next week I get a phone call to say I was successful and through to the final stage (bare in mind this was the 6th & final stage held end of May2021) which was a 1 on 1 interview with someone asking similar questions to my video interview stage. I was even provided feedback at this point which was helpful in me preparing for this last stage. So far the selection process at DLG I couldn’t fault, was well organised and I was informed every step of of the way on my progress. Now this is where it turned negative. I do my final stage interview which was ran well, no problem. I was told via email before this interview I should have the outcome within 2 weeks, the interviewer updated this to 4 weeks during our chat. 4 weeks pass, no update. At this point eager to know the outcome of the final stage, I email the recruiter who I have had contact with previously, no response. I give it some more time for them to reach out and update me, but nothing. At this point I felt as though I had been forgotten about completely. I would of at least expected from an employer like DLG to get a response to my email with just some small update… even if you was still deciding or not quite finished doing all your selection processes yet. Anyways as a last ditch attempt to reach someone in Mid July 2021 I decided to use the live chat feature on the hope of an update. I got through and was told a recruiter would call me this morning to give me an update & the chat was disconnected. Did that recruiter call? No. Was let down again. At this point I was just like “forget it”, I’ll assume I have been rejected and moved on with my graduate search. Fast forward 2 weeks, almost 2 months since my final stage interview happened in end of May 2021. I get the generic response from DLG HR telling me I have been unsuccessful etc. What an disappointing way to inform someone who has been through all stages of your selection process for your graduate scheme to inform them. Not even the courtesy to call me and inform me, let alone off me any form of feedback. Overall the experience started positive, but that quickly diminished towards the final stage. On the positive side, if this is how I am treated during the selection process then god knows what it is like to be employed there. I for one are glad I have been unsuccessful in this. Nevertheless thought it was worth sharing my experience for others to be aware.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

Why would you like to work at DLG? What attracted you to this graduate program? What would you like to gain from this? Then standard competency questions… tell me about a time etc.
