Very easy, relaxed. I applied online and took an online assessment. I met with the District Manager one-on-one. It was very straight forward and I was offered a position that day. Unfortunately, the location I applied for was full. However, I was offered 2 other locations. Usually they require people take there basic prep class. But, since I passed their online assessment (before my interview), and had a MBA, I was not required to take the class.
Interview was after passing their tax course, which is about 30 hours. Interview was a formality as they will hire just about anyone who passes their course or had tax prep experience.

Upon completing the application through the H&R Block website , I followed up with a call to their office and spoke with a preparer to schedule my interview. I interviewed with two preparers who had a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field. They were very welcoming and kind. They asked me about my prior work experience and spoke to me about their experience and backgrounds. It felt more like a conversation than the usual feeling of an interrogative interview, which I liked. They also allowed space for me to ask questions. It was an amazing interview process.
