Applied online for a part time sales associate position. I was contacted within a few days by email and scheduled my appointment for an interview. The interview was honestly a waste of time for both me and Macy's. I am a college student and they looked at my availability and basically said they would not hire me because I will be returning to school in the fall, even though I was looking to transfer to a store close to my University. The interviewer looked at my availability and then the interview was over.
I was able to interview immediately upon walk in, after completing a written application. There was a small group of friendly and competent human resources staff available at the time.

I started with a "virtual", interview that included recorded video questions. I went through all of the many required tests and online video recordings and received a phone call from a woman to come in the very next day for an interview.
Note: When I filled out the online application I checked the box that indicated I could work evenings and weekends.
The woman who greeted me acted like she was surprised that I could only work part time hours.
I stayed calm and polite, I smiled I made eye contact which she rarely returned and unfortunately, her disgruntled mood never improved. The interview was actually a big waste of time for both of us. If she did not like my recorded video interview or the fact that I just wanted to work part time, then why did she contact me for an interview?

It was pretty easy, I think the one thing was that I was nervous so I felt like I will mess up, but they made me feel relaxed and confident with what I was saying.
