I was contacted by internal talent acquisition recruiter, who found my profile on Linked In, all good. Next stage telephone interview discussing the role and synergies. Received good background information on what the companies benefits and pay banding would/could be available for the role. Very positive start. Then had tel interview with technical sales consultant already in the role, this went well I thought. Next step face to face with sales rep and techie guy again, spent 30mins with sales guy shooting the breeze by the coffee machine, bit odd, however you gotta go with the flow. Spent over an hour with technical (guy in role) interviewer, talking around experiences we both had in the field relative to the role. All went well i thought, next steps, I was told would be follow up call with senior manager in US, in the next few days. Funny incident /experience at the time of interview, there was one person in for the interview before me whom I met since this it was running late, on the way out me and candidate said hello and shook hands by reception! " So there was I, sales rep, techy guy and candidate all looking at each other, priceless....Then when I came out "low and behold" candidate no 3 was facing me not really very well organised,,....I was advised during interview that I was strongest by far...good sign I thought...So I left expecting a meeting request with guy in the US following week. Call never came, informed recruiter of my continued interest in the role and how well it had gone, to keep the ball rolling, unfortunately he didn't reply to my emails initially, stopped returning calls, eventually after some persistence on my part i eventually heard from recruiter, it had gone to someone internally..also asked for a feedback on + -, nothing forthcoming. Disappointing after all the effort over a 4 week period..I really expected more from NetApp.
