Their internal recruiter got in touch with me regarding my application to book a calendly appointment for an initial chat. I went ahead and did this but the next available appointment wasn't for another 3 weeks. I let him know this was the case and he just repeated 'Please use my calendly link to book a time in my calendar.' So not wanting to aggravate the situation, I just went ahead and told him I look forward to speaking with him after 3x weeks. He then came back and apologised, since he realised that he had some event that was blocking his calendar and he's removed this now and for me to select a new earlier time. I appreciated his apology, and selected a new time to catch up.
Then comes the actual appointment on a Thursday, and he was a no show. I emailed him 5 minutes into our 15 min booked time slot to ask if we were still catching up. No response. Wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt, I emailed him again the following day to ask for an update regarding my application. This was Friday now. I didn't hear back from him until the following Monday, with an email that offered no explanation and asking if I was free to catch up now. I did not respond. His behaviour raised so many red flags and left such a bad impression, I no longer wanted the job. Internal recruiters like him need to be reminded that they are often the first touchpoint to a company and the way they behave / treat candidates is representative of the company's culture and what behaviour is tolerated. Best of luck with your search, I'm not that desperate thanks.
