      Entretien

      The initial interview with a recruiter was very laid back, more like a conversation about everything I've done in life since high school. Not sure why they ask you to submit your resume if they don't bother reading it. Don't even waste time crafting it for this position, make sure to spend more time responding to the questions they ask you to submit, that's what they really read. The technical interview was not hard, I just had a bad interviewer. He was like a robot copying and pasting his feedback to me from a template (I am assuming, cause feedback came in blocks on the chat, that for sure he didn't have the time to write). They talk about empathy and having personalized conversations, while this guy showed none of the above. I had friends going through the interview process at the same time as me, and they had a completely different experience. They had real-time feedback. As some have mentioned, you have to really dig deep into their platform, FAQ, and Youtube videos. I was willing to put up with the salary (very low), so I could work for Shopify. After experiencing their interview process, I think I'm better off.

      Hello, there. Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that you had a negative experience in your interview with Shopify. Before an interview is booked, our recruitment team will review each candidate’s resume to see if they are a good fit. After reviewing a resume we would then book the candidate in for an interview. The Life Story portion of the interview begins with open ended questions so that we can learn more about your experiences. We are looking for candidates to share organically what they feel is important for Shopify to learn about themselves. This holistic approach let’s us understand your experiences, what drives you, what makes you passionate and how we can align together. The technical portion of the interview process is designed to be more of a role-play to allow you to learn about the channels and challenges you might experience when in that role. I am sorry that you found this portion robotic, I’ll be sure to deliver this feedback to the appropriate team for you. Thank you again for the feedback. We will be sure to take it onboard for future interviews. We’re always looking for ways to improve the interview process for future candidates.

      Lengthy but well explained and scheduled interview process comprising of writing example emails, taking live chats and addressing a call. They give you the tools needed to prepare but it is stressful.
