J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 5 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Slack en oct. 2021
Entretien
1) Screening interview with recruiter
2) Screening interview with a manager
3) Coding challenge (actually, review a PR in Github)
4) Call with recruiter to give me "tips"
5) 4.5 hour process, with 1 manager, 1 coding session (1.5 hours), 1 system design session (~45 min) and a soft skills session with a Senior Staff Eng.
Recruiter told me they have a 24 hour SLA to give results, I got mine 10 days after, stating that "my technical skills were fine, but there wasn't a cultural fit due to me not being collaborative". So I guess me talking about how I collaborate with every team in every company I've been in, and trying to have "collaborative" technical sessions with interviewers that barely spoke a word was not enough for them.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Everything was centered around designing/building a simple chat service
The first interview in a series was good and I felt like I had a great rapport with the interviewer. Job sounded interesting. Next was a coding challenge and I didn't finish the 2nd part of some insane thing counting some pattern within an alphanumeric string. And that was the end because of the coding test. Companies that use that as a metric to drop someone from the interview process are just doing it wrong. Anyways, happy where I landed but I do love Slack the product.

Extremely disorganized interview. The Manger came in for the Intro interview meeting totally unprepared. He took my intro interview forgetting my resume. So he had no clue who he was talking to. He asked my questions and starting cutting me off when I was deep into answering it.. always looking at the time and moving to next question without even letting me finish it. From his facial expression he didnt seem to understand any of the technical terms I was using which are the common in Cloud technology. Seemed very incompetent guy who came without even meeting me with the desire of not moving forward. when there was only 5 minutes left he starting reading a technical question from his computer and the way he was reading he has no idea what that meant. I just had 5 minutes to answer when I had a lot of things to say as it was an open ended question. Then he abruptly ended the meeting saying time is up. Management should look at the interview board who they are selecting for interviewing the candidates and seems like they donot have intention to take a seasoned and good candidate, Clearly smelled a inclusion issue situation here.

The interview process began with a casual introductory call with the recruiter to discuss general background and interest. This was followed by a phone screen with a manager, which covered both behavioral questions and some technical discussion. The final stage was a virtual onsite consisting of three rounds: one focused on system design, another on coding and problem-solving, and the last round centered around behavioral and team-fit questions.
